Get your kit off girls!

By Jenna MacCulloch

CHEEKY ladies are being encouraged to bare all and reveal their inner wild side for a traffic stopping window display in Inverness.

For charity shop DebRA, which is located on Academy Street is hoping 100 women from the Highlands will be willing to take off their clothes and pose naked in a bid to raise a massive £10,000.

And organisers are set to get celebrity fitness queen Nell McAndrew, who supports the charity, on board and make an appearance at the event which is set to go ahead in June.

DebRA is a national charity working on behalf of people in the UK with the genetic skin blistering condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

EB is a very rare condition in which the skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub, causing painful and open wounds.

Manager of the Inverness DebRA store, Sandra Ross, came up with the idea for the cheeky fundraiser.

She hopes it will be a way of raising a massive amount of money for charity and at the same time boosting self confidence in women, whatever their age or size and shape.

She said: “£10,000 is a lot of money but I’m confident enough Inverness women will lend a hand and get their clothes off for a good cause!

“There are so many beautiful children who are born with this awful skin condition and it would be great to raise a lot of funds to help more research into it.”

She added: “I also feel the media puts a lot of pressure on women everywhere to be perfect. I feel like this is a great way for women to celebrate their bodies, whatever their age from 18 to 80!

“Every women is beautiful and what is so important to remember is beauty is not just skin deep.”

Assistant manager Jen Scringeour said there were already a few women who were jumping at the chance to get their kit off in the shop window.

She said: “Many women who work for the skin care ward at Raigmore Hospital have already pledged their support by signing up for the event and we want as many members of the public to do the same!”

The event itself will have a party atmosphere with plenty of glasses of wine flowing for those women who might need a little dutch courage when they bare all.

Jen said: “The day itself will be a lot of fun and there will be plenty going on. Myself and my manager Sandra are both taking part too, so we’re not escaping the heat of the challenge.

“I’m feeling pretty nervous about it, so I will definitely be having a glass of wine before I shed my clothes!”

The sponsor forms can be picked up from the charity store located at 27-31 Academy Street.
