A MAN who was wounded in an alleged stabbing incident in Rosehaugh Road in Inverness earlier this week has died.

And his brother has been charged with his murder.

Gary Fraser (31), who is from the Merkinch area of the city, appeared in Inverness Sheriff Court this afternoon (Wednesday) charged with the murder of his brother Andrew (29).

Andew died this afternoon in Raigmore Hospital where he was understood to have been on a life support machine.

He was wounded on Monday evening following the alleged attack.

Police arrested his brother Gary at another address in the area and he appeared on petition in private in court today where he made no plea or declaration. He was remanded in custody for further examination.

The incident on Monday followed an alleged sword attack last Friday in the same area of the city.

accused of assaulting a 25-year-old at around 7pm on Friday at Kessock Avenue and a 33-year-old man around 15 minutes later in the Quayside Court area.
