Search for missing Glasgow man launched after car abandoned at Keiss

POLICE in Wick are appealing for information on the driver of a car left abandoned near a local beach on Wednesday (May 25).

Family members are concerned for the wellbeing of Glasgow man John McKee (46) who has not been seen since leaving his home on Sunday (May 22).

His silver Volkswagen Golf was found at Keiss and ?Wick lifeboat crew and two coastguard teams have been making searches of the nearby coastline.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr McKee or his vehicle any time after May 22, including operators of guest houses or hotels, which Mr McKee may have checked into, who could provide information about his movements.

The missing man is described as 5ft 6in, of slim build, with short, light-brown hair and is clean shaven. He also has blue eyes and speaks with a Glasgow accent.

Anyone with information about Mr McKee’s whereabouts is urged to contact police on 0845 6005703.
