Highlanders called up for international duty

OSCAR Baird’s dream competitive trip to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia will open the door to one of Highland’s fringe performers this weekend away to Howe of Fife.

Baird is one of two of the Canal Park club’s players to be recruited for prestigious action at the Cobra 10s tournament with Scottish invitation team Projecx Waterboys.

The 21-year-old misses this weekend’s league match while fellow back Andrew Findlater will be posted absent two weeks later, with the 25-year-old earning a call-up for the Dubai Sevens.
