ALNESS neighbours are celebrating after scooping £30,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The 11 residents, who all live in Lindley Bank, split the windfall after their postcode, IV17 0TN, was drawn as a weekly Street Prize winner with the charity lottery.

People’s Postcode Lottery Street Prize presenter, Judie McCourt, dropped by to give the winners the good news.

Terry Innes, Wilma Macpherson, Mary Ann Sutherland and a fourth winner, who all play with two tickets, pocketed £4,000 each. Patricia Preston, Allan Robertson, Moira Budge, Ronnie Ross, Melanie Bauer, Neil Robertson and a seventh winner, who each play with a single ticket, received £2,000.

The residents of Lindley Bank weren’t the only winners this week. People’s Postcode Lottery players also raised over £80,000 for Woodland Trust Scotland.

As a charity lottery, 20p from every £1 spent on tickets goes to good causes. Players have raised almost £13 million for charity to date – and all the money raised stays in Scotland.
