FORRES House After School Care Club has been given a reprieve by Moray Council.
There had been fears the club – which looks after youngsters outside of school hours – could be wound up because of its poor finances which have seen it report a budget deficit at the end of the last five financial years.
But at a meeting of the authority’s children and young people’s services committee this morning councillors said the club had worked hard to address its situation it will continue to run for this year.
There will be a further report to the committee on the club early in 2012.
A full report, including local reaction to the news, will appear in the next edition of the ‘Gazette’.
