The Black Isle Brewery has got the go-ahead for its new plans

THE Black Isle Brewery has been given the green light to start selling its award winning ales from its new premises.

The independent Munlochy-based company opened a new brewery on its site at Allangrange Mains last year.

The organic brewery also constructed a gift shop and visitor centre and applied for a premises licence from the Highland Licensing Board.

Area licensing standards officer Ian Cox told the board, which met in Inverness on Tuesday, that the development had been built to a high standard and was well equipped for the sale of alcohol.

Visitors are given tours of the brewery with information and education on the trade and free tastings are provided of the range of ales it produces.

The previous licence has to be surrendered.
