The drugs were seized following a search by officers on patrol around the city's railway station yesterday.

A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with the recovery and is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Detective Sergeant Sam McLaughlan said: "We are committed to tackling the supply of controlled drugs to the Highlands and Islands and pro-actively targeting those individuals intent on causing harm to our local communities.

"We rely on the support of the public to help us take action to disrupt the drug trade."

Anyone with concerns or information about drugs can contact police on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers service on 0800 555111.
