A MACDUFF Primary pupil has won a huge amount of awards since taking up swimming just over a year ago.
Alix Gair (11) has collected 24 medals and has won two trophies from her club, as well as completing last summer’s Banff Bay Swim.
Alix, a member of Deveron Amateur Swimming Club, has ambitions to represent Scotland.
She said: "My sister Sophie used to swim and she got me into the sport.
"I train for about eight hours a week and it can be tough at times, especially getting up for the early-morning sessions.
"It is hard work, but I enjoy it and my favourite and strongest stroke is butterfly.
"It is great to win these awards and I am now concentrating on posting good enough times to represent Scotland."
Alix has won her trophies and medals at a variety of club events at Banff Swimming Pool and in competitions across Scotland representing the Deveron team.
Her two trophies were for most improved swimmer in the club’s silver squad and her second was picked up at the group’s Summer Sprints event.
"Hopefully, this year is just as successful," added Alix.
