An experience for the adventurous

THE charity behind the fund-raising appeal for a new Raigmore Hospital children's ward is looking for adventurous people to trek in Nepal.

The appeal, to raise £1 million, has been launched by the ARCHIE Foundation, a charity which works with sick children and their families across the north of Scotland, and is supported by The Inverness Courier.

The Nepal challenge offers an 11-day trek from 22nd October until 1st November with Discover Adventure.

A charity spokesman said with awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas, the walk across the Annapurna range offers an unforgettable experience through mountainside villages and thick forests.

A registration fee of £349 and minimum sponsorship of £3400 applies. Money from the appeal will allow the children's ward at Raigmore to be redesigned to create a child-centred and family-friendly environment with improved facilities and new equipment with improved facilities and new equipment.
