ROSS County were held to a 2-2 draw by visitors Partick Thistle in Irn Bru Division One on Saturday – after leading by two goals.

There was further frustration for the Staggies when full-back Gary Miller was sent off with 17 minutes to go.

The Dingwall side, whose next two games are also at Victoria Park, against Livingston in the league and Celtic in the Scottish Communities League Cup, got off to a dream start against the Jags.

Thomas Stewart’s handball led to a spot-kick after 13 minutes and County captain Richard Brittain netted the penalty.

County were cruising two minutes after the break when Michael Gardyne shot the hosts 2-0 ahead.

However, Miller’s handball saw him red-carded on 73 minutes and Thistle’s Paul Cairney gave Jackie McNamara’s team a lifeline.

In the final minute, Partick snatched a point when Chris Erskine netted past goalkeeper Michael Fraser as he latched on to a pass from Cairney.
