A HIGHLAND care operator, with four care homes across the region, has announced their new partnerships with local charities.

Parklands Care Homes’ employees have voted for their two new charity partnerships — with Moray staff voting for Mikeysline and Highland staff choosing Highland Hospice.

The care operator has 12 care home across the north of Scotland – four in the Highlands, seven in Moray and one in Aberdeenshire.

The partnerships will span two years, during which Parklands employees, residents and family members will be encouraged to support the chosen charities through fundraising, volunteering and mentoring. In turn, the charities will work with Parklands to deliver a range of activities and workshops to benefit residents and employees.

Donald Morrison, director of communications for Parklands Care Homes said: “We’d like to thank the many charities who applied to become our charity partner, as each one plays an important role in supporting local people. We are fortunate to have such dedicated organisations working to support the local community.

“It was clear from our staff vote that Highland Hospice and Mikeysline are two charities our teams feel passionately about, and we’re excited to work with them. Through this partnership, our residents and staff will support their fundraising and help raise awareness of the important services they provide.”

Karen Duff, corporate fundraiser for Highland Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be one of Parklands' chosen charities and greatly look forward to working together. Huge thanks to all the staff who chose the Hospice as a charity they'd like to support.

“Without generosity like this from the Highland community we simply wouldn't be able to provide our exceptional care and support for individuals and families throughout the Highlands.”
