Parts of Muir of Ord to Conon Bridge to get resurfaced along with streets in Dingwall as local Highland councillors agree £324,799 budget for road repairs and maintenance
Dingwall, Muir of Ord and the road to Conon Bridge are the big winners in the recently approved road investment by local Highland councillors.
The area's road infrastructure budget for the Dingwall and Seaforth area is £324,799, which will be allocated to various road improvement projects which includes structural resurfacing and integrity improvements.
These projects have been prioritised based on safety inspections, service inspections, and feedback from ward members, ensuring that the most critical areas receive attention.
The programme includes a range of projects, from surface dressing to structural overlays, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing the existing road network.
The biggest job is a surface dressing of 3.5 km of the road between Conon Bridge and Muir of Ord and the second largest is Stoney Brae in Dingwall which is likely linked to work planned for the nearby Neil Gunn Road and side roads.
George Street in Dingwall – the vital passage connecting Mart Road with the High Street and The Caledonian Bars – is also due to get a new inlay as will Fraser Road or Bruce Avenue).
In Muir of Ord, Lilyloch to Carradale and the area around Baxter’s Junction will get a surface dressing – both to the extent of about 600 metres.
Vice-chairwoman of the Dingwall and Seaforth Area Committee, Councillor Margaret Paterson said: "We are pleased to have agreed several roads schemes for capital funding, which will greatly improve the local roads infrastructure for Dingwall and Seaforth.”
