A CRAFTY plan that highlights the strength of community in a Black Isle village has provided festive cheer in the countdown to Christmas.

Locals invited to paint baubles to hang on a Christmas tree in Rosemarkie have come up with a stunning selection of unique designs which now take pride of place on the tree.

Around 30 have already been hung and a delighted Rosemarkie Amenities Association expects as many again are still to be handed in. Phoebe McDaid said: "Some of them are really beautiful and must have taken a long time."
