THE world's strongest brothers were brought to book by Easter Ross primary children this week as they were tasked with the opening of a very special school library.
Tom and Luke Stoltman delighted Park Primary pupils in Invergordon when they dropped in to carry out the honours this week.
Pupils gave been accommodated at Invergordon Academy since a fire devastated their building back in February of 2020.
That was immediately followed by the coronavirus crisis which threw the way schools were able to operate into turmoil.
So there was a sense of celebration this week as Park pupils found the space to recreate their school library.
At the grand openin, Luke and Tom were welcomed by nursery, P1 and P2 pupils and asked to unveil a plaque and cut the ribbon to the entrance of the library.
A few pupils then took them inside for a tour and showed off their brand new books and electronic scanning system.
Then they came along to the playground where P3/4 class demonstrated their current lunchtime activity running this week – Park’s Strongest Pupil competition.
The idea was the brainchild of Mrs Fraser and the Playground Parliament Group with each class taking part in heats each day the week. The brothers had a chance to scout where their future competition might come from.
A Q&A with P5, P6 and P7 pupils saw them posed interesting questions about their life as strongmen and the kind of books they enjoy.
Deputy head Nikki Campbell said: "Pupils were delighted to hear that strongmen read too and that they use this to help them relax. The pupils have commented that they found this hugely inspiring and we are delighted that they influence our pupils in such a positive way."
Nursery to P4 pupils are housed in temporary modular units at Invergordon Academy. P5 to P7 are in a self-contained area of the academy building with their our own dedicated stairwell.
Highland Council plan a rebuild on the old school site which is is still in the early planning stages.
