WEEKLY police surgeries are taking place in Beauly following the closure of the station in March.

Every Wednesday between 2-4pm the public will be able to meet with officers at the old police station until the property is sold.

Beauly Police Station shut for good on March 31 as part of a string of closures across the force area which included stations in Evanton and Cromarty.

Area Commander Graeme Murdoch said: "We have listened to feedback from local councillors and intend to run the surgeries to provide people with further opportunities to speak to local officers and raise any concerns.

"The surgeries are supplementary to routine police officer presence within the community and residents can continue to contact police in the usual ways by telephone."
