Queen and pals ready to shine during Maryburgh's big week
THESE three little cuties are ready to play their part ensuring a Ross-shire village's gala goes with a swing next week.
Maryburgh Gala Queen Harper Vigurs (6) this week teamed up with her attendants Georgie Evans (8) and Amelia Prasher (7) for a dress rehearsal ahead of a week of events beginning on Monday and culminating in a grand finale next Saturday.
The week gets off to an energetic start on Monday with a Tour de Maryburgh kids bike race starting at the bottom of Birch Drive at 6.30pm.
There will be a film night on Tuesday evening and an eagerly anticipated children's pet show at Maryburgh Hall on Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8pm. Organisers say everything from cats and dogs to lizards and stick insects are welcome.
A car treasure hunt is scheduled for Thursday with registration at the hall at 6.15pm. Friday evening will be devoted to hall set-up ahead of the big gala day on Saturday featuring crowning of the Queen at noon, performances from Strathpeffer Pipe Band and Highland Brass along with various other entertainment.
