Ross County kept faith with the same team that beat Ayr United 3-1 with Queen of the South also sticking with the same 11 that beat Dunfermline Athletic the previous weekend.

QOS, who are attempting to avoid relegation, made the brighter start and had the first chance of the game when Andrew Stirling’s cross was not cleared by the County defence and fell to Kyle Jacobs who from eight yards saw his shot well saved by Scott Fox.

County showed nerves during the first quarter as Andrew Boyle almost turned Connor Murray's cross into his own net but Fox dived well to prevent the ball finding the bottom right corner.

But Ross County made the breakthrough in the 29th minute when Ross Stewart was unchallenged in the six yard box to head home Josh Mullin’s corner.

Queen of the South could have equalised five minutes before half time when Michael Doyle unleashed a spectacular effort from 25 yards that hit the crossbar.

Two goals in the first nine minutes of the second half secured the Championship title for Ross County.

The first came when Brian Graham was left unchallenged to head home a Mullin cross from eight yards which goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet was powerless to stop.

Three minutes later, Mullin who played provider for both of the previous goals, beat his marker and at the edge of the box fired a thunderous effort into the bottom left corner of the net.

Graham made it 4-0 nine minutes before full time when he picked out Tom Grivosti's cross into the box and nodded the ball past Mehmet from 10 yards.

The trophy was presented to captain Marcus Fraser at full time as the celebrations began in Dingwall.

Ross County will celebrate their Championship win with a free family fun day at the Global Energy Stadium at 3pm tomorrow where the player of the year will also be announced.

An open top bus parade will be leaving the stadium at 4pm tomorrow.
