AN Invergordon lad is set to take on a 13.5 mile challenge in aid of MS Society.

Aiden Taylor (11), who has strong roots in Easter Ross, is challenging himself to the “Staggie Stroll” from Invergordon to Ross County stadium in aid of the charity “very close to his heart”, MS Society.

Aiden’s grandad, Alasdair Mackenzie (71), was just 28-years-old when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and has been using a wheelchair since he was 40.

Despite his hardships, Mr Mackenzie’s positive outlook on life has inspired a string of fundraisers to benefit research into the condition by the MS Society Scotland.

By taking on the challenge, Aiden is also following in the footsteps of his older brother Logan who also completed the Staggie Stroll in aid of MS Society in 2019.

On May 4, Aiden and his mum Jeanette will be setting off from his grandad’s house in Invergordon, with the aim of reaching Ross County stadium in time for the Hibs Game kick-off. Aiden’s granny Babs will also be joining for part of the walk.

Since the walk is also taking place on May 4th, aka Star Wars Day, a carboard cut-out R2D2 wearing an MS Society t-shirt will also be joining Aiden and his gang.
