News came on December 20 that the biggest motor racing event in the Highlands, the Snowman Rally, will not take place in 2025.

Ross-shire Journal readers took to social media to share their thoughts.

David Moodie said: “About time we, the tax payers, who fund Forestry and Land Scotland start to make them deliver, so the thousands of tax payers who want a rally are listened to.”

Alex Strang shared a gloomy assessment: “The Highlands are getting worse with stuff stopping, soon it will have nothing — joke of a place.”
