THE monarch's representative in Ross-shire has marked the passing one year ago of Queen Elizabeth II.
Joanie Whiteford is the Lord Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty.
Lord-Lieutenants are appointed by the reigning monarch on the advice of the First Minister for each area of Scotland.
In a post yesterday, Mrs Whiteford said: "Today marks the first anniversary of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"As we continue to give thanks for her long life of service and duty, we particularly remember His Majesty The King and all members of her family this day."
She also shared a message posted by The King which reads: "In marking the first anniversary of Her late Majesty’s death and my Accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service and all she meant to so many of us.
"I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all."
