Strathpeffer and District Pipe Band on lookout for new recruits with experience of playing as scene set for rehearsals to restart

Strathpeffer and District Pipe Band practices for the new season start up again on Tuesday, September 20 in Strathpeffer Community Centre at 7.30pm.

The band plays in Strathpeffer Square throughout June to September as well as a number of other engagements across Ross-shire during the summer months.

Secretary Alan McHardy said: “We are a band that plays together purely for the enjoyment of playing in front of audiences and being able to work together as a team to provide entertainment. The band has a mix of people from all walks of life of all ages and it’s a great way to meet new people. People often worry about it being too much of a commitment – we practice for around an hour and a half a week and then through the summer our performances are well spaced out.

“We would be delighted to welcome anyone who has experience of playing pipes or drums.”
