KPL has secured a number of contracts at the port in recent times with anchorage, maintenance, and marine support of one of the largest semi-submersibles in the world, the Ocean Great White, as well as the layup and supporting marine and port services of Voyager Spirit.
KPL said afterwards: "It was a great opportunity for industries specialising particularly in concrete manufacturing, assembly, load-out and wet storage for floating offshore wind (FOW) to come together in one place. The event commenced with guest speaker sessions from each sector of the offshore wind market, and Q&A sessions, networking opportunities and followed by a tour of the facilities and discussing the plans for Kishorn Port’s development and expansion plans. Day two concluded with a boat trip around the Port and surrounding areas, taking in a tour of the turbine wet storage and anchorage."
KPL directors, Alasdair Ferguson and Colin Ortlepp, hosted the two-day event. They said they were delighted with the interest in bringing all the stakeholders together "and showcasing the unique facilities available at our port as well as the development and extension masterplan. A fantastic couple of days was had by all that attended".
