Dingwall tailor has locals covered with generous coronavirus mask initiative
A TAILOR in Ross-shire's county town has been making free masks for locals with leftover material – and is ready to make more if required.
The Master Tailors, on Dingwall's High Street, has received a warm response since starting to produce the face-coverings during the coronavirus lockdown and giving them away for free to help the local community.
Yusuf Semzi has been making masks from leftover material by the dozen from his shop and has already donated up to 150.
Now he has asked if anyone with unwanted material in good condition would be able to donate it to him so he can continue to make the protective gear for more locals.
His efforts have already won a wholeheartedly positive response from the community with dozens praising him for taking the initiative online.
One woman wrote: “This is such a lovely act of kindness” while another agreed that she knows of some families in the community that could “benefit greatly from these masks.”
Mr Semzi said: “I just want to help people, all the shops are closed and there are the groups going around bringing people food and maybe they need masks.
“It is very important because this year of the virus and basically I like helping people, I have already given out between 100 and 150 masks away.
“I made them just because I want to help people, it is that simple. It would be good though if people were able to donate some material that I could use to make masks.”
