AN Easter Ross town is declaring war on weeds with locals urged to bolster the small volunteer army behind the effort.

Invergordon Off the Wall, the trailblazing community group behind the town’s unique mural trail, is spearheading a local spring clean ahead of the visitor season.

In a statement of intent, the group - which has already been tidying up around the murals - posted: “Invergordon weeds, we're coming for ya!!”

It said: “It's spring cleaning time for the murals. Some have had a wee clean so they show off their stunning colours and artwork.

“On Saturday (April 12), our small group of volunteers will be doing some weeding around the murals in preparation for the 2025 season.

“If anyone would like to join us, or continue the weeding along the High Street area, please come along! Bring along your enthusiasm and perhaps your own tools, although we hope to borrow some for the day. See you there!”

The town has previously banded together to tackle unsightly weeds in prominent public areas.
