A RADIO listener is "on cloud nine" after she won a £32,000 jackpot on MFR’s Cash Register competition.

Alness mum Lorraine Morrison (47) was in the middle of organising a replacement for her broken washing machine when nine year old daughter Sophie shouted through to let her know her mobile was ringing.

But little did they know it would be MFR’s Afternoon Show presenter, Grant Thomson, with a call that would change their lives.

When asked about her £32,406.48 win, Lorraine said: “I am absolutely ecstatic. I’ve been on cloud nine ever since that call!”

Lorraine’s partner Stewart (41) and daughter, Sophie, have never been on holiday together and plan to delve into their passion for Scotland by exploring the country with their windfall courtesy of MFR.

“Fifteen years is a long time without a holiday, and we all love walking around Scotland, especially Sophie, so this amazing amount of cash gives the perfect opportunity to go travelling to discover the beautiful country right on our doorstep,” she said. “And who knows, maybe we can go somewhere a bit further afield after that!

“Other than that, Sophie is getting a new bed and a bike and I’m planning on treating myself with an upgrade on all my home appliances, something I was already in the process of when I first received the call, only this time I won’t be as stressed!

"Stewart has his eye on a remote-controlled kettle already, ideal for making a brew while we listen to MFR in bed!”

MFR’s Dan And Grace In The Morning presenters paid Lorraine a visit to congratulate her on her win.

Dan said: “Lorraine was a brilliant winner, I think her head was spinning as fast as her new washing machine when I told her she’d won!

"The team at MFR are so pleased for her and her family.

"We hope the winnings take Lorraine and her family to all their favourite places!”

Cash Register runs every weekday.
