An early morning Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness train has been cancelled because of a fault.

ScotRail arranged replacement buses for passengers who were set to travel on the 06:11 service from Kyle due into the Highland capital at 08:50.

A ScotRail spokesman said: “A replacement coach will be run by Kineil Coaches, but we regret to advise this transport is unable to serve Achanalt, Achnasheen, Achnashellach, Stromeferry, Duncraig, Plockton or Duirinish.”

Passengers are advised to use the direct dial Help Phone on platforms to make alternative arrangements with the rail operator where possible.

The spokesman added: “Due to the use of road transport, the journey time will be extended and we apologise for the disruption to journeys on this route.”

Those delayed more than 30 minutes you can make a claim by visiting ScotRail.co.uk/delay-repay.

It is not yet known if the cancellation will have any knock-on effect on later services.
