A BURST main which has left residents in the Invergordon area without water overnight should be repaired early this afternoon (Wednesday).

Scottish Water confirmed the outage, which "is causing the interruption to the water supply for customers in Invergordon", occurred at around 6.10pm on Tuesday.

Posting an update this morning, it said engineers were on site and hoped to have repairs completed by around 2.30pm.

"The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed," said a spokesman.

"While we carry out the repair please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low intermittent pressure or discoloured water.

"If you have experienced flooding due to this incident and need support, please call us on 0800 0778 778."
