His lawyer, Natalie Paterson told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald: "He has little recollection of this. There was a disagreement between the people at the house and another party."

The solicitor said that her client was currently serving a prison sentence with his earliest release date being December 19 this year.

She added: "He has successfully completed a drug treatment and testing order and is substance free. On his release, he has still to complete a community payback order with 270 hours of unpaid work."

Sheriff Macdonald fined Sehar of Ardival Court, Strathpeffer £290 but gave him no time to pay so the 14 day prison alternative would apply, thus not affecting his date of liberty.
