New temporary Ullapool post office to run from village hall
The new temporary Ullapool post office is now operating from Ullapool Village Hall on Market Street.
It came after the closure of Parlett's Convenience Store, on Shore Street, which previously housed the facility.
Post Office said:"The temporary branch at Ullapool Village Hall, 4 Market Street, Ullapool, IV26 2XE, opened on December 1. The opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 1pm and 3 – 5pm.
"The permanent vacancy is still advertised on www.runapostoffice.co.uk and we would welcome interest from retailers."
Mr and Mrs Parlett said:"It has been a pleasure and an honour to have served the community for the last 45 years and we will miss it terribly."
Other local businesses have taken on Parlett's previous roles in the community:
Ullapool Bookshop is now providing all post and stationery supplies.
West Coast Delicatessen now stocks Three Little Bakers products, and offers special orders and reserved items as previously done with Parlett's.
Lochbroom Filling Station and Tesco Ullapool have increased their newspaper quantities.
