Ullapool event to explore home efficiency improvements
An event exploring ideas to improve home energy efficiency is set to take place in Ullapool this Friday.
Taking place on April 25, the event titled Action for Home Energy Resilience in Lochbroom is organised by Lochbroom and Ullapool Community Trust (LUCT) and will also celebrate the local launch of the Highland Energy Community Partnership (HECP) that sees LUCT working with five other Highland community groups.
The event is open to local residents and tradespeople, and will feature talks from experts who specialise in retrofit, heat pumps and other home energy solutions.
The Highland Energy Community Partnership is a project that aims to empower local communities in the Highlands to embrace energy efficiency and tackle climate change. Co-ordinated by Changeworks, the project has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund as a part of their Climate Action Fund.
Mamta Patel, chairperson of LUCT said: “The event marks the start of what we hope will be a real turning point in how we understand, source and improve home energy solutions across our Highland community.
“It is also the official start of this area’s participation in the exciting Highland Energy Community Partnership. The Partnership offers a unique opportunity for residents to engage with a range of activities to make their homes greener and reduce energy bills”.
