Ullapool’s ‘fantastic’ Seafood Shack gets shout-out from Michelin-recommended chef
AN Ullapool takeaway has been praised by a Michelin-recommended chef as one of the best cheap places to eat in the UK.
The Seafood Shack in Ullapool has received its fair share of accolades, with the most recent being a shout-out from a Michelin-recommended chef — who works only a street away in the Wester Ross village, at the Dipping Lugger.
David Smith is the head chef of the Michelin-recommended restaurant, The Dipping Lugger, and has praised the fellow Ullapool eatery as one of the best places to have “a meal for two for less than £40”. He said: "They serve fantastic local shellfish, and they do a fantastic haddock wrap."
David’s recommendation was complied as a part of a new list from Sky News, who said: “Throughout the last year the Money blog has been asking Michelin chefs to pick their favourite cheap eats — a meal for two for less than £40 — in their part of the UK.
“We've heard about hidden gems in every part of the country, from Northern Ireland to Norfolk, with the chefs revealing where they go for a budget meal when they have a night off.”
