ULLAPOOL and Gairloch are set to receive a visit from the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, the Waverley, this spring.

She will sail into Oban on the evening of May 19, as she embarks on a variety of cruises around the Inner Hebrides and Wester Ross.

Beginning at Kyle of Lochalsh, on the evening of May 20 the Waverley will cruise the likes of Loch Carron, Strome Narrows, Loch Kishorn and view Plockton from afar.

The Round Raasay tour on May 21 will also begin at Kyle of Lochalsh, as well as the May 22 sailing also visiting Kyle, alongside Gairloch and Ullapool.

In 2024 the Waverley made her first ever trip to Ullapool, although in 2025 the ship is due to return to the village for only one day on May 22 — the day that marks the 50th anniversary of her first sailing in preservation.
