WORKS on the A835 linking Wester Ross with the Black Isle and Inverness will finish later than expected with an additional shift for workers being added on Sunday night.
BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out what it calls essential road surfacing works at two locations on the A835.

Works on the A835 Inverlael Farm, Loch Broom are scheduled to take place over four days, with works planned between 7am and 7pm. An additional shift is required on Sunday (October 6) from 7pm to 7am. That means works will finish on the morning of Monday, October 7.

Due to supplier issues, the second phase of works on the A835 Lael Forest, between Braemore and Loch Broom, are now postponed until Monday, November 4. Works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, and will be completed by Wednesday, November 13.
No works will take place at the weekend.
For the safety of motorists and workers, convoy operation with a 10mph speed restriction will be in place throughout both works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A835 at Inverlael and Lael forest will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
