Police Scotland and Traffic Scotland confirm reopening of A87 following earlier crash in Ross-shire that resulted in one person being airlifted to hospital in Glasgow
A busy trunk road has reopened to traffic following an earlier crash which resulted in one person being airlifted to hospital.
The A87 was closed in both directions near Inverinate following the one-vehicle collision at around 11.10am on Tuesday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said an ambulance and one air ambulance were scrambled to the scene, with a patient being transport to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Their condition was not known at the time of writing.
The route remained closed for more than seven hours following the crash, with Traffic Scotland confirming it had reopened in an update at 6.43pm.
In a statement issued shortly after 8pm, police also confirmed the road had reopened. A spokesperson said: “The A87 near Inverinate, Kyle, has reopened following a one-vehicle crash which was reported around 11.10am on Tuesday.
“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
