Several ferry sailings in the Minch tomorrow have been cancelled amid strong winds and high seas.

CalMac had earlier warned of possible disruption on the Ullapool-Stornoway crossing in the wake of forecasts for choppy seas.

And those warnings have now come to pass, with three sailings on Wednesday now confirmed to be cancelled and disruption into Tuesday evening and overnight.

The 7am and 2pm Stornoway departures, and the 10.30am sailing out of Ullapool are all off on Wednesday.

The 5.30pm Ullapool to Stornoway crossing on Wednesday remained on schedule but CalMac has warned that this too could be liable to disruption or cancellation "at short notice" and has urged passengers to check their journeys before setting off.

Meanwhile, Tuesday's remaining sailings were running late at the time of writing too but continuing to sail.

The 2pm departure from Stornoway sailed 27 minutes later than planned and although the 5.30pm crossing back from Ullapool was still "expected to operate", the earlier delay meant it too could be late departing.

Meanwhile, the night-time freight sailings tonight and into Wednesday morning have also been affected by the conditions.

The 10.10pm sailing from Stornoway was expected to run as planned, but will operate on a "load and go basis" and no livestock will be carried. The 2.50am sailing from Ullapool is cancelled however.
