UPDATE: Woman hospitalised after A9 crash involving car and pedestrian near Tain, police confirm

A woman has been taken to hospital for treatment after a crash involving a car in Tain earlier today, police have confirmed.

The A9, now reopened, was closed in both directions at the junction with Craighill Terrace for over four hours after emergency services were called to the scene.

Police thanked the public for their patience during the closure.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The A9 at the junction with Craighill Terrace in Tain has reopened following a crash involving a car and a female pedestrian which happened around 12.10pm on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

“Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

“We would like to thank the public for their patience while the road was closed.”
