AN award-winning shop in Ross-shire's county town is extending its opening hours, it announced today.

George Cockburn and Son in Dingwall's Mill Street has also paid tribute to loyal customers for adhering to social distancing requirements and wearing face coverings in the shop.

Known as Scotland's first champion haggis maker, the butcher and specialist food shop is extending its opening hours until 4pm Monday to Friday and 1pm on Saturday.

It said: "We would also like to thank our loyal customers for adhering to our social distancing requirements and also wearing face coverings while in the shop to protect our staff and other customers.

"On a different note we are extending the use by date on any MFR Cash for Kids vouchers you may have bought on the MFR auction.

"They were valid until the end of August but we are aware a lot of customers have been isolating and are not out and about as much so you can use them up to the end of the year.

"Stay safe and we hope to see you in the shop soon."
