Wester Ross hotel in running for 'outstanding host' crown in independent accommodation awards
A hotel in Wester Ross has been shortlisted in this year's UK-wide eviivo independent accommodation awards.
The Kinlochewe Hotel has been nominated for the category of outstanding host in this year's eviivo awards, which recognises Britain's finest independent accommodation and their hosts.
The eviivo awards, deemed “the Oscars of independent accommodation”, is now in its seventh year, and aims to put the focus on the best bed and breakfast, guest houses, boutique hotels, pubs, and restaurants with rooms, and other independent accommodation the country has to offer.
Kinlochewe Hotel will compete against four other properties around the UK and Ireland to take the crown.
They face stiff competition from The Blue Bell Inn at Crookham in Cornhill-On-Tweed, Northumberland, Parkers House Bed and Breakfast in Newton, Powsy, England, Tatler Jack in Killarney, Ireland and Kiltariff Hall Country House in Rathriland, Northern Ireland.
The shortlisted establishments will have their applications reviewed and judged by a panel of industry experts ahead of the awards ceremony, with the winner picking up a grand prize of £1000 to put toward their property.
Kinlochewe Hotel proprietor Karen Twist said: “It would mean the world to me. Every day I work so hard to make sure people have the best possible experience when they visit us by and to be recognised for that would be amazing after such a tough and uncertain few years.”
Michele Fitzpatrick, chief executive at eviivo, said: “We were overwhelmed and delighted with the number of entries we received from our UK properties and property owners. Covid hit the independent property sector hard, and we’re so pleased to see these brave owners stay strong and come out the other side.
“Welcoming back the eviivo Awards after a two-year hiatus allows us to give these incredible individuals and their accommodation their moment in the limelight, which they truly deserve, and we’re thrilled to be able to recognise all their hard work.”
Everyone shortlisted will receive a special plaque to mark the occasion and recognise the quality of service they provide.
The Awards will run concurrently in France, Germany at 8pm CET and at 8pm EST in the US.
