Bothy walker helped to safety in Wester Ross after alarm is raised

A WALKER suffering a muscular injury has been evacuated from a remote Wester Ross bothy.

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was tasked by police to assist after reports of the walker in distress at Shenavall bothy, which is several miles from the nearest road.

The alert was issued at 10.30am yesterday.

A spokesman for the mountain rescue team said: "The casualty was evacuated by 4x4 vehicle to the roadside at Dundonnell and taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The casualty's condition is not known."
