Wildfires force road closures on A835 in Wester Ross at junctions near Achiltibuie and Badnagyle

Police Scotland has confirmed that the A835 in Wester Ross is currently closed at the junction of Achiltibuie and the junction at Badnagyle due to a wildfires.

Heather is understood to have caught fire near Stac Pollaidh prompting the call-out of emergency services at around 9.50am.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A835 is closed at the junction of Achiltibuie and the junction at Badnagyle following a wildfire reported around 9.50am on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are asked to avoid the area.”

The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
