A WOMAN has died following an accident in the Highland capital, police have confirmed.

The elderly woman died following a road traffic collision on Ross Avenue at its junction with Fairfield Road, Inverness.

The collision, which also involved a lorry, happened around 9.50am. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from Northern Constabulary’s road policing unit are carrying out a full collision investigation.

Details of the deceased are not being released until next of kin have been informed.
