Work to start on Kessock Bridge
Night time works for Kessock Bridge
A TWO-week programme of work gets underway at the Kessock Bridge today.
The £80,000 works by Transport Scotland will be carried out at night-time, from 7pm to 7am.
Transport Scotland says the project, which involve the installation of a gate within the existing crossover at the south end of the bridge, will allow for quicker set up of traffic management during future works/incidents.
There will be no works on the nights of Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May. For the safety of road workers and users alike, works will be carried out using fast lane closures.
A spokesman for Scotland Transerv said: "The installation of the crossovers will allow future closures of the dual carriageway to be managed more rapidly and in a much safer way."
The work will be carried out by Scotland Transerv on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works.
