Alness United’s youngsters make it four in a row with six-goal rout at Buckie
Alness United under-18s made it four wins in a row on Sunday with another bumper win in the north ranks of the Highland League, this time away to Buckie Thistle at Mersons Park.
Jamie MacLeod sent the Easter Ross youngsters on their way after 18 minutes, but it wasn’t until the second half that they truly kicked into gear.
Just two minutes after the restart, Chris Matejewicz doubled their advantage, and ten minutes later MacLeod made it three.
The game was put well and truly behind doubt on 71 minutes when Kacper Kluczynski found the net but that didn’t dissuade Osama Yousuf from bagging a late brace, scoring on 83 and 86 minutes to round off a 6-0 win.
Back in action after a weekend off, a hat-trick for Bodhan Campbell inspired Balloan to a thumping 8-1 win away to Nairn County.

The striker had notched his treble by the 24th minute after first netting on the quarter hour and doubling his contribution seven minutes later.
The misery continued for the home side as Lewis Gibson and Alfie Lobban scored within three minutes of each other, and just a minute before half-time Leo Lomba took the interval score line to 6-0.
A quieter second half saw Gibson score his second on 54 minutes before Lobban grabbed his side’s eighth with 88 minutes gone.
It was all one way until an own goal from Harvey Fitzgerald two minutes time abruptly ended the Balloan stopper’s hopes of a clean sheet, reducing the deficit by one.
The Lilywhites returned from Keith with the full points after putting four past the home side.
A tight first half saw the teams break on level terms after an Alex Heggie goal scored in the opening five minutes of the game was cancelled out by Irvin Bradley shortly before the interval.
Clachnacuddin emerged the better of the two sides, however, and took the lead through Daniel McDonald four minutes into the half.
With Keith in pursuit of an equaliser, the decisive goal came at the other end as the Inverness youngsters made it 3-1 with a goal from Struan Thain.
An impressive victory was wrapped up in injury time when Alfie Forsyth found the net.
At Millburn Academy, Forres Mechanics proved too strong for Inverness Athletic.
Kieran Hayllar put the Can Cans 1-0 up after 16 minutes getting on the end of a long clearance from goalkeeper Murray Newlands.
But it was Ben Cruickshank who sealed victory with a second half goal, chipping the ball over Aaron Hargreaves after a through ball from Hayllar with less than 20 minutes remaining.
The other two games scheduled for the day, North West Skye v Wick Academy and Rothes v Dingwall, were postponed.
