Scotland call up for Avoch footballer who plays for Brighton
Avoch footballer Rachel Maclauchlan has been called up to the Scotland squad to play in their Nations League matches against Austria and The Netherlands.
McLauchlan (27), who plays for Women’s Super League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion is in line to win her 18th cap for Scotland.
Scotland take on Austria at the Josko Arena in Reid on Friday and The Netherlands at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Tuesday.
McLauchlan, who started her career with Inverness City in 2013, signed for Aberdeen in 2014 before moving to Hibernian in 2016.
She then headed to England in 2019 to play for Yeovil Town before returning to Scotland to sign for Glasgow City that year and then going on to join Rangers in 2021
She spent three seasons with Rangers, where in the 2021-22 they won the SWPL for the first time in club history.
In her second season Rangers won their first SWPL Cup and in the third season they won their first Scottish Cup, also narrowly missing out on the league title in both years.
In July, Mclauchlan returned to England to sign for Brighton and Hove Albion who are currently in fifth place in the 12-team division.
