The 25-year-old stepped into the ring in Inverness last night looking to add the super welterweight title to the welterweight crown he had previously earned, and did exactly that in devastating fashion.

Bartlett, who trains out of Highland Boxing Academy, was going toe-to-toe with the “Punjabi Prince” Rico Marinovic at the Drumossie Hotel in the Highland capital after an original bout set for November was postponed.

Buoyed on by that home support, Bartlett sent his opponent to the mat in both the first and second rounds without managing to clinch a stoppage.

However, he went one better in the third round, getting the stoppage to fulfil the promise he made ahead of the bout – and become a two-weight Scottish champion.

The victory also moves Bartlett’s professional record on to 10 wins and zero losses.
