Former Highland Rugby Club players Jacob Henry from Dingwall and Paddy Kelly from Inverness called up to Scotland Commonwealth Games squad
Jacob Henry has been called up to the Scotland rugby sevens squad for the Commonwealth Games later this month.
The Dingwall man who played for Highland Rugby Club earlier in his career, has been named in the 13-man squad for the Games.
Inverness man Paddy Kelly has also been called up to the squad.
Both men have been part of the Scotland squad which has taken part in the World Sevens series during 2022.
Henry (21) who is with Edinburgh Rugby, plys his trade with the Super6 side Southern Knights after a successful period on the Macphail scholarship in South Africa.
The former Highland Rugby Club winger was named in the Scotland squad for the 2020 Under-20 Six Nations and featured against England and Ireland.
Kelly (27) made his Scotland Sevens bow during the Hamilton leg of the 2020/21 HSBC World Sevens Series, playing in four events before the coronavirus pandemic cut that season short.
The former Glasgow Warriors and London Scottish 7s prop, also counts Ayr and Glasgow Hawks as clubs he has represented.
Despite Birmingham hosting the Commonwealth Games, the rugby sevens tournament will take place at the Coventry Stadium in Coventry from Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31.
