Inverness Harriers teenager Andrew Baird has been called up to the Scotland squad to compete at the London Mini Marathon.
The Easter Kinkell athlete has been named as one of the 14 Scottish youngsters which will take part in the event on Saturday.
Baird is described as one of the top young athletes in the country as he achieved major success in his career so far.
In November, he claimed the Scottish Short Course Cross Country Championship in Kirkcaldy.
In July, he won the 1500 metres steeplechase title at the School International Athletic Board Track and Field Championship in Wales.
He was also crowned UK School Games champion when he claimed victory in the 1500 metres steeplechase in September.
