Former Ross County manager Derek Adams drops out of the English Football League with Morecambe after defeat to Salford City confirms relegation
Former Ross County manager Derek Adams has been relegated from the English Football League with Morecambe.
The 49-year-old, who was in his third stint at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium following his exit from Dingwall last February, had previously tasted success with the club, leading them to League One for the first time in their history.
However, after a brief stint away at Bradford City, he would return and be unable to save them from relegation back to League Two.
Only a few months after that, he would return north of the border for his third spell with the Staggies, where his explosive 79-day reign as manager was the joint-shortest in the club’s history.
That would beckon a return to Morecambe for this season, but amidst a host of off-field issues the club look likely to finish bottom of the table, with a 3-1 loss to Salford City confirming they would drop out of the Football League after 18 years.
Also in the Morecambe set-up this season is former Ross County wing back Gwion Edwards, who was on loan in Dingwall from Wigan Athletic in 2023, and Jordan Slew, who had a similar stint in Dingwall in 2014.
