The 27-year-old, who was on loan at the Dingwall club for five months during the 2020-21 campaign while previously at Celtic, has returned to Parkhead after being released from Scottish Cup winners Aberdeen last month.

The goalkeeper, who has also had spells with Ayr United, Dundee United, Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green Rovers, has represented Scotland at various age levels and recently made his first team debut in a 4-0 away win over Liechtenstein earlier this month.

Doohan joined Ross County on loan from Celtic in August 2020 on what was originally a season long loan deal.

However, he only played five games for the Staggies as he found himself second choice behind Ross Laidlaw and returned to Celtic in January 2021.

Speaking on the Celtic website about rejoining the club, Doohan said: “I’m over the moon. Coming through the Academy, spending 11 years there and now to be coming back, it’s an amazing feeling.

“It was always the dream to come back. I knew at the starting point of my career that I needed to go away and play games and hopefully the opportunity would come up to come back to the club, which I always wanted to do and thankfully that’s happened now.

“I’m buzzing to get going and to meet all the boys and hopefully it’ll be another successful season for the club."

Meanwhile Ross County have found out the fixtures for the 2025/26 Championship campaign as they look to win promotion back to the Premiership after being relegated last season.
